When in Australia, Shop | Outfit Post

When I was in Australia I discovered a little shop called General Pants – to be honest when I walked past it that’s exactly what I did, walk past. I mean, the name doesn’t exactly entice you does it? But On the way back home I had a peek through the door and saw this dress. Waaaaaaaaaaaa! I just fell in love.

3 YES, yes it could – it’s all silky and lovely.

It was pricey at around $70 but I don’t mind paying around £40-£50 for a good quality dress that I absolutely LOVE. And anyway, I was on holiday so money isn’t real then is it? Heheheh. If you want to buy it, they do actually ship to the UK for $25 which is about £10 (ish) and you can grab it here

I shopped rather a lot in Australia, and have just filmed a haul of everything I bought for my YouTube channel – unfortunately, these were the only ‘outfit’ snaps I managed to do whilst I was away, but no doubt I will take a few now I’m home!!

This weekend I will spend with Daniel, mainly relaxing and seeing family. I've not quite caught up with my sleep yet and am still a rather tired bear! Hope you all have a good one, whatever you do :)

Christmas Party Oufit

The works Christmas Party is clearly one of the most important parties of the year. It's the one time you get to really dress up and have a fantastic night with the people you work really hard with, day in, day out. I'm pretty sure every girl will admit that they purchase a new dress when that time of year rolls around and it's your mission to find something that not every girl will be wearing. 

When the gorgeous Kim at e-tail webstores contacted me (she's the loveliest lady), on behalf of Chi Chi clothing I was just a wee bit excited at her timing. This, yes this dress right here has to be my absolute favourite Christmas party dress to date.

The long sleeves and comfortable material come hand in hand with a hell of a lot of sparkle, making sure that it's perfect for Christmas / Winter attire - plus it's a Little Black Dress, which is never an item you can have too many of. And although I like my dress to stand out a little, I feel that I could tone it down a little by pairing it with some chunky black tights and velvet ankle boots. 

Apologies for the lack of full length shots here guys, but the lighting at 7pm on a winter night was definitely against me. (cue to perhaps invest in some indoor lighting, any recommendations!?)

And if I wasn't in Australia for New Years - I would 100% be wearing this baby again.

Outfit Post | Strictly Velvet

Tonight, a dear family friend is taking part in a charity dance where she'll be shaking her tooshy ballroom style - all in the aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Mum and I are going on down to show our support and I thought I would share with you lovely lot what I'll be wearing!

It's been a god awful day for weather today - so excuse the rain & me looking like a wet rat. I had to take these pictures before I drowned on our driveway!! 

I have been after a new black bag since forever. I don't know what it is, there always seems to be the perfect tan bag available, but when it comes to a smart black bag it's like 'pooft' they all disappear and I am left sad and black-bag-less. So when I discovered this bad-boy on the Brand Village website I was head over heels and couldn't wait to get my filthy bag grabbing mitts on it. It's the perfect size, and has lots of little compartments inside (I'm a hoarder, so I love this). 
I know, I know, I've gone for all black again - but my lips are red, so that counts as colour right? This blouse is so comfy and feels super luxurious - my favourite part being the velvet quilted shoulders and cuffed sleeves. I seem to really quite fancy the pants off velvet - as I'm wearing it on my bottoms too. You remember my black and white velvet leggings that I wore here? Well I loved them so ruddy much that my boyfriend was a bit wonderful and bought me them in black too. YAY! Probably to shut me up going on about my love for them. My little black glitzy shoes are from the Zara basic range and are perfect for dressing up quite a casual outfit. I pretty much hate wearing staggering heels, mainly because it hurts - so these little heels fit my style to a tee. 

I know that cancer affects far too many people's lives - and still isn't something that many people can discuss openly. However, if any of you wonderful lot would like to make a small donation towards tonight then that would be so lovely and you can do so here. 
Of course - please don't be offended by my asking or feel you have to; I just thought it would be nice to share it with you guys in-case it's something close to your heart too :)

My Perfect Winter Warmer | Outfit Post

We all know that when it comes to winter, a girls mission is to find the perfect winter jumper - as early on as possible to avoid fighting for the last one in your size on the rails of the Topshop sale.

This year, fear not. I am here to save your endless search. Tis true, I have found the perfect one, thank me later.

Firstly, who doesn’t love a sparkly collar? This is 100% the cutest little jumper that ever did exist. I literally want to hug myself constantly. It’s mohair – and before you get all ‘oh Megan, but they’re so itchy’ it ISN’T!! Can I get a hell yes? It is the softest, comfiest, prettiest jumper I have ever had the pleasure to grace on my skin and I won’t ever take it off. EVER. (until the next outfit post) And because it’s mohair, it means it’s super warm too, so absolutely perfect for winter. One size fits all, and it’s moulded nicely to my body shape so I don’t look like a drowned rat (happens regularly with jumpers). Bravo She Likes!

Any way, this particular ensemble has been a regular for my work-wear as of late; in winter being comfy is my main thing but I feel this outfit is still smart enough to wear to the office. If you want to pick one up you can grab it here.

Snug as a Bug | Outfit Post

If you follow me on twitter, then you may have spotted a tweet a week or so ago mentioning that I’d gone from owning absolutely zilch leather clothing – to owning two pieces in one day!

I’ve always been one that embraces the swishy – floaty – fairy princess in my clothing but for one reason or another I’ve quite fancied being a bit more…grungy? I don’t know why, but I’m the girl who always used to be a bit scared of leather…for fear of looking like a try hard or that I might be stepping too far away from my comfort in vintage pieces, but my mind has been changed.

So this is officially my new favourite outfit, which I wore to London on a day trip this week. A jolly good friend is back from a year in Turkey for a mere 3 days before jetting off again to America so we soaked up some proper English Christmas tradition and did a spot of sightseeing. I’m thinking I might do a little post with a few snaps I took of the sights, Yay? Nay? It really is such a beautiful city.

I feel surprisingly cosy and effortless in this and how warm is leather? I didn’t even realise! These pleather shorts from Oh my Love are perfect winter attire, comfy enough to wear casually with a plain tee and smart enough to snazzy up with a bit of bling for a night out. I’ve gone for somewhere in the middle and feel so comfortable in them! They fit nice and snugly, with none of that “Erm girl, I can see a bit too much of what’s under those shorts and it’s not pretty” if you know what I mean? And teamed with my new Zara coat I feel ready to face the winter months without having to pile on the layers committing fashion suicide. Personally I think they’re a match made in heaven and I’m snug as a bug. I’ve also thrown in a trusty vintage silk number to soften the outfit up a little.

p.s. You may start to notice I wear a LOT of black during winter. But I promise for pops of colour here and there :) I’ll try to not be too depressing in my attire ;)

Outfit Post | Country Bumpkin and the Flu

This weekend, I have the dreaded woman flu. I don't know if you've heard, but it's a hell of a lot worse than that silly old 'man flu'. So really, I should have stayed put in bed yesterday, but I had arranged to see a dear old friend and we had such a lovely day. Luckily, she was happy to take a few snaps of me prancing about in a field (I fear I won't be able to muster any sort of energy to make myself up for a wee while); after we'd spent the morning traipsing to the doctors, shopping to our hearts content, stuffing our face with mc donalds and stopping off for a quick pineapple and lemonade (best drink ever, fact). I am now utterly exhausted.

Anyway, you know how I said in my last post that I was falling back in love with Topshop again? Well, these snaps definitely back that up.

I am a big fat fan of these velvet flocked check leggings. Not only are they super cosy and warm, they're a complete steal. At only £28 I couldn't quite believe it had Topshop's name to it. And I know, before you say it, yes they're only leggings and not jeans etc. etc. but they are amazing quality and so sturdy! I know I'll definitely be wearing them a lot more now the weather's turning a little bit chilly. Autumn/Winter is definitely my favourite time of year. And although I love the sun, I much prefer wearing comfy, warm clothes; I cannot wait to start wearing my big, oversized, fluffy jumpers and ridiculous PJ's.
Yesterday, the sun was out but there was certainly a bit of a chill in the air (may just be my lurgy..). So even though these leggings are SO warm, I thought I'd team them with something a little lighter. The cream blouse is a favourite of mine (actually the mothers underwear, again). It's silky, loose material means it goes with almost anything, and it's lovely and cool. I also popped on my trusty black blazer and cowboy boots. After all, this is the countryside you know.

Outfit Post | Rekindling Love - Topshop

For a while, Topshop lost my trust. They were throwing out pieces of clothing that to be frank, didn't fit the bill. The quality was getting poor, and the price tag was getting increasingly higher. So for a while, I said ciao! But it's as if they knew! The cheeky devils are slowly (but surely), bringing me back over to the dark side. There have been a few pieces of late that I just haven't been able to resist like this dress here, and this skirt I'm wearing below...

Sandals: River Island

I absolutely love it. It's like, do I want a long skirt on or a short skirt on? Hmm, I want both. VOILÀ! the midi-skirt is definitely a must have for me and this one makes me want to purchase a few more. The shade is gorgeous and the cut makes for ultimate swhishy-ness, which we all know I love!
The gorgeous Lily, of I am Lily Bee was selling a few of her GORGEOUS clothes on ebay, (not gunna lie, want to be her a little bit ;)) and I snapped up this lovely little lace crop top for a fraction of the price it retailed at (also Topshop). I thought it went beautifully with the purple midi skirt, which retailed for £38. They don't have my one in stock any more, but they have brought out a new one which is a bit yummy in it's replacement, have a peek here if you like mine!

When I'm on holiday, I like to feel comfortable, but also look like I've made a bit of an effort with myself. And I think this outfit ticks both boxes, do you?


Life in general is not so peachy at the moment. I won’t go into any detail, but I will say a big thank you for all your lovely comments on my blog as of late. It really makes my day brighter :) (Apologies for that slice of cheese there, but it felt necessary). You are a wonderful lot!

Outfit Post | My Fairy Princess Dress

Whilst I can’t wait to share some of my holiday snaps with you lovely lot, I couldn't resist writing about my massively gorgeous new dress first. It’s always such a yummy feeling to come home from a trip away to a mountain of post, and as soon as I spotted this package I couldn’t wait to rip it open to reveal the contents....

 You will probably notice a trend with my outfits…I very rarely opt for the skin tight dresses or skirts; I just don’t find them overly flattering on my figure. Instead, my love lies with anything floaty or ‘swishy’ (yes, I went for the word swishy). That’s why this dress is my idea of heaven; I must admit I feel like a bit of a woodland fairy princess in this. And let's face it, what girl doesn't want to feel like a fairy princess?! (please say I'm not alone here..) Not only does it tick my swishy wishes, it is literally the easiest thing to wear ever. It’s perfect for this summer weather we appear to be having, and will slot nicely into my winter wardrobe too, teamed with some black tights and brogues.

The lace detail to the front and petticoat is a particular favourite; but the very best part about this dress is that it costs only £24!!! YES, £24 I spluttered at the screen when I read it too. The intricate detail alone makes it worthy of a far heftier price tag in my eyes. And the quality is something that overtakes some of the top high street brands. I couldn’t wait to wack out my little satchel again, and thought it would work well with my Camden loafers. Infact, I think I might wear it again this evening to see Michael Mcintyre (cue excitement overload!!).

Outfit Post | Megs is Home!

Hello there, it's me, megs! Yes you heard right; I got off my lazy butt and hopped back on a plane from sunny Italy to not so sunny England. I had such a wonderful time, and it really is one of the most beautiful countries. I'm feeling an overview post will be necessary once I've sifted through the ridiculous amounts of photographs; what do you think?

Although, for now I thought an outfit post would suffice....

Sandals: River Island

 I picked up this delightful little Ted Baker number at Bicester Village earlier in the year, but I hadn't really had the opportunity to wear it. I mean, it's quite vibrant in colour, and to be honest I think I'd stick out like a sore thumb if I wore this to my local pub! On holiday, you kinda forget about the rest of the world don't you? I know I do. I feel almost invincible with my wardrobe, like no-ones watching/judging. (even though people definitely are, haha). The silky material is perfect for hot weather, and the cut of this jumpsuit means it clings in all the right places. It definiely feels like a more luxurious item to add to my wardrobe.

 

Something I didn't show in the pictures, is the awesome little pockets sewn super neatly into the sides, they're really deep and because the fabric is so loose it means you could easily pop your phone in there without worrying about a dreadful looking bulge (ahem).



I teamed it with my three staple jewellery items. I'm not usually one for changing up my bracelets/rings, so you'll probably have seen these a few times before.
My fox bracelet, by Jacey Withers is literally my favourite thing ever. It cost a hell of a lot, but I wear it every single day and love it with all my heart! It's quite an unusual piece, and probably not to every ones taste; but it's got me written all over it :)
My swarovski ring is also a firm favourite. My boyfriend bought it for me and being quite the magpie I love the way it catches the light.
Another purchase from Daniel is my Guess watch. I was a bit worried when I got it that it would be a bit chunky but I'm in love, and it seems to go with everything!
My earrings were £1 from a charity shop ;) you know me, love a good bargain.
Lastly, my most favourite part of this jumpsuit, has to be the straps. I love how they're twisted around, adding emphasis to the neckline.

Outfit Post | The Vintage Set

One of the many reasons I love Twitter is for the avenue’s it opens; the possibilities of discovering new people/places are endless. So I was super-duper happy when Charlotte from The Vintage Set sent me a little tweet, telling me to check out her shop. And I am so glad I did, it’s uh-mazin’ (seriously go look, NOW). We got chat-a-lattin and it wasn’t long before I’d made my first purchase…

It arrived in absolutely no time at all, and how utterly beautiful is the packaging? I was so impressed :). As you may have guessed from previous posts, I am a sucker for anything vintage and I literally squealed when I saw this ‘unidays leather satchel bag’….

Waaa it’s so beautiful it makes me want to cry, haha. It’s the perfect size to fit all my clutter in and I love the suede badge embroidered on to the front, it makes me feel like I’m off to Hogwarts! 

The Vintage Set is a new little company on the big wide web specialising in 1920-1980’s vintage garments. I found it so refreshing looking through their site; instead of being swamped with pages of clothes, there are only a few high quality vintage items to choose from in each section. Quality over quantity is something I really love, especially when the prices are so affordable too. With a little bit of discount thrown my way, I picked my little satchel up for only £17 (inc. p&p). And for a pristine leather bag, I think that’s pretty awesome. All the items on the site are marked up A, B or C, A being mint condition to C where the product has noticeable wear, so you know what you’re purchasing from the offset. Ranging from a Camo army jacket to floral midi-skirts there really is something for everyone. Not only are the pieces fantastic so is the customer service; Charlotte was such a joy to chat to and replied to any queries I had almost immediately.

I think it’s so special when you find a really lovely company, and I just couldn’t wait to shout from the roof tops about it to you wonderful lot.
